Girl Scouts have been selling their cookies for as long as many of us can remember. There are over ten types of cookies, but which one seems to sell the best? A survey sent to students at Northwest High School revealed that the majority’s top choices were Caramel deLites, and Peanut Butter Patties, with a close tie between Lemonades and Thin Mints.
Caramel deLites:
The cookies are crisp topped with chocolate, caramel and a hint of coconut. For many people, these cookies are a top choice. Samie Swinton, a director of Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa stated, “My personal favorite is Caramel deLites, the chocolate, coconut and caramel mix is just too delicious to beat!”

Peanut Butter Patties:
Peanut Butter Patties are crunchy layered cookies with a peanut butter and chocolate coating. They are a very popular cookie. Sophomore Diya Kinariwala said, “I just love peanut butter.” The peanut butter patties are the perfect option for peanut butter lovers!

Lemonades:
The Lemonade cookies are a refreshing shortbread cookie. They include a tangy icing that offers an invigorating flavor. Sophomore Natalie Nelson stated, “[The cookies] are super soft and the icing is really good.”

Thin Mints:
These cookies were a close tie for many people’s second and third choice between Lemonades. Thin mint cookies are crunchy wafers covered in a mint chocolate coating. Kinariwala stated, “[Thin mints] are a classic Girl Scout cookie, I love the mint and chocolate together.”
Overall Rating: 8/10
These cookies cost six dollars a package. Samie Swinton is a director of Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa and said, “I believe they are a fair price because customers are doing so much more than just purchasing a package of delicious cookies.” When consumers purchase these different types of cookies, they fuel Girl Scouts’ ability to learn important life skills, allowing them to experience new things with their troops.
