Each spring the Iowa High School Press Association holds a contest for student journalists to submit their best work from the year. This year, the Tenth Street Times was honored to receive 16 awards. This is also the second year in a row that the Tenth Street Times was a top 15 finalist in the state. Click the links below to view our award-winning articles, designs, photos and more! These artifacts were selected from over 1,000 entries around the state. All entries except for Journalist of the Year and Photographer of the Year were selected from entries in our class. Journalist of the Year and Photographer of The Year are selected from the entire state. We are so proud of our staff and are glad that they submitted their work!

Jack Andersen

I’m a senior at Northwest High School. I love acting in theatre! I participate in Waukee Northwest’s Fall Play, Speech Team, NSDA Speech, and other Thespian events. I also love show choir. When I am not at school or in rehearsals, I am baking desserts in the kitchen. I really enjoy making fun desserts and decorating cakes. I am in publications because I love taking pictures of different things happening in our community. I also enjoy writing articles and having fun with our class.
