Update on the Palestine/Israel War

Since 1948, there has been conflict between Israel and Palestine on who should get the land and on October 7, 2023, war broke loose between the two states.

Palestine Hamas (otherwise known as the Islamic Resistance Movement) has been fighting for their land since the United Nations Plan of who gets the land between Israel and Palestine. The creation of Hamas led to the United States and a few other countries have labeled them as a terrorist group. Because of the UN Plan, Israel took it as a chance to take all of the territory and has been kicking out or killing Palestinians for it. They have been slowly succeeding.

This has been going on for 75 years and nothing has changed. That is why Palestine created Hamas and why they attacked on October 7, 2023. “Hamas murdered over 1,200 Israelis, including 40 babies, kidnapped 240 civilians into Gaza, and today are still holding over 150 men, women, and children, in captivity, wounded thousands, and fired thousands of rockets against Israeli cities and towns,” states the AJC (American Jewish Committee). Hamas’ attack was successful, but it made Israel fire back. Every. Single. Day.

According to the New York Times, “the Israeli military soon began a siege to block food, water, and fuel from entering the territory, and it launched a ground invasion on Oct. 27.” They also bombed schools, hospitals, churches and much more. Israel has been shutting down electricity, water and wifi to make Palestine stagger back. 

“At least 8,306 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in Israeli attacks since October 7. More than 1,400 people have been killed in Israel” says Al Jazeera, a Qatari state-owned Arabic-language news television network. Yet the world is still unfazed about it or just has been quiet. 

While people are ignoring the topic, the situation becomes darker and Israel is following the steps of the 10 Stages of Genocide (created by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust). They have been dehumanizing Palestinians by calling them human animals, or in other terms, they are on Stage 9 of genocide. Hamas is also on Stage 9, trying to eliminate all Israelis from their homes. Stage 9 of the 10 Stages of Genocide states, “The hate group murders their identified victims in a deliberate and systematic campaign of violence. Millions of lives have been destroyed or changed beyond recognition through genocide.”

Genocide is not a good thing. “You would want the world to scream with you,” states an artist on TikTok, @flyingkikii.
